After Hours

Memorable times with the students at Suburban Therapy Center

A little bit about me…

Hello! My name is Nina Evangelista and I am currently a physical therapist at Suburban Therapy Center.

I graduated from the College of Mount Saint Vincent with a B.S. degree in Allied Health Sciences and Psychology in 2000.  My first job was as a Family Service Specialist with the Division of Youth and Family Services, Adoption Resource Center.  I was responsible for finding permanent homes for foster children in Passaic County.

Then in 2006, I graduated from UMDNJ with a clinical doctorate (DPT) in physical therapy.  Upon graduation, I was honored with the research and clinical performance awards.

This is my third year practicing as an outpatient physical therapist!  Although I have been out of graduate school for several years, I continue to learn about advances in the profession and learn about new/effective treatment techniques through continuing education and through our literature.  I have also learned a great deal from our senior physical therapists, who have shared their knowledge with us. Thank you!

Now, I am a clinical instructor sharing the knowledge that I have gained with a student physical therapist from Dominican College in NY.  As part of required curriculum, they must complete four clinical internships/affiliations in different physical therapy specialties.  Seeing how far she has come in just three short months with us reminds me how much I have grown professionally in these last three years.

I welcome any questions or comments from others.
